When the first parts of Örbyhus Castle were built, the surrounding area was nothing but waterlogged meadows that had drained due to land uplift. It was not until the 15th century that the park was laid out. The architect this time was Simon de la Vallée.
The park was given its current appearance in connection with the renovation of the castle in the early 1900s by Eugene von Rosen. The architect was Israel Wahlman.
